Communications and External Relations (CER)
Communications and External Relations Section (CER) is one of seven main professional services sections within the University, whose responsibility it is to support the four academic faculties. Headed by the Director of CER and with a staff of around 100, it has specific responsibility for UK, EU and international student recruitment; marketing and admissions; widening participation and community activity; corporate marketing and communications; events; fundraising, relations with alumni; and the arts programme on campus. CER consists of a number of teams, including Marketing & Student Recruitment, Admissions, Communications, Development and Alumni Relations.
Duties of the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the University’s central Admissions operation - a team that works quickly and efficiently in a constantly changing environment. This new role has been created to help ensure that our admissions technical systems are robust, efficient and effective in this more competitive and digital environment. The Admissions Technical Assistant will support the delivery of high-level customer service, in line with the University’s commitment to provide a strong and positive applicant experience - by ensuring that technical issues are reported and successfully resolved and by contributing to the continual improvement and development of the admissions systems.
Skills and qualifications required
The Admissions Technical Assistant must have the ability to work accurately, with excellent attention to detail. They will also need the ability to manage multiple tasks and to prioritise effectively. They should have experience of using complex databases and/or online systems, and they ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of contacts.
