Finance, Planning and Data Insight section
The Finance, Planning and Data Insight section is responsible for managing the University's income and expenditure, ensuring we get value for money in all financial activity and that we comply with all statutory and regulatory requests. Our responsibility extends to the collection and sharing of information and understanding to help the University achieve its strategic aims.
The remit of the Section includes the management of risk and the Insurance Officer will play a key role in this area.
This role can be based at either the Colchester or Southend campus and occasional travel between our three campuses (Colchester, Southend and Loughton) may be required to undertake the duties of the role. Please refer to the ‘General Information’ within the job pack for further information.
Duties of the Role
This role presents a flexible part-time opportunity for someone who wishes to utilise their insurance skills in the Higher Education Sector. The main responsibilities of the role will include:

Qualifications and Skills required
You will hold a relevant recognised professional qualification, and evidence CPD within the insurance / risk arena. In addition, experience of insurance administration in a large, complex and diverse organisation and an understanding of risk management processes is essential.
You will use your excellent communication, organisation and negotiation skills to obtain competitive insurance terms to manage the risk that provide adequate cover and offer value for money for the University. The Insurance Officer is assisted by an Insurance Assistant and experience of managing and developing staff would be derisible.

This is a permanent, part-time post for 21.6 hours per week (0.6 FTE).
