Talent Development CentreThe University is committed to providing a supportive and transformational study environment for its students at all levels of learning. To further this aim, the Talent Development Centre (TDC) provides academic skills support through teaching, workshop provision and one-to-one advice sessions.
The Role and the PersonThe Talent Development Centre Assistant Administrator provides support for the TDC Manager and Administrator in particular during peak times.
The successful candidate will provide basic administrative support towards the running of TDC modules, workshops and Helpdesk functions. You will contribute to effective communication and engagement within a culture of strong partnership, working with staff in the TDC and across the whole university. You will also contribute to a culture of excellence in service delivery and sharing of best practice.
Hours of work: This is a 0.2 FTE post and we are seeking applicants willing to work to an annualised contract (i.e. completing workload commitments over busy term time periods). See jobpack for further information.
Qualifications and skills requiredYou will have a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to respond positively to rapid change as well as demonstrating supportive and effective interpersonal and administrative skills and the ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality. You will also have recent administrative experience in a customer-oriented environment, including provision of appropriate face-to-face advice to customers from diverse backgrounds.
Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 GCSE passes, including English Language and Mathematics and recent experience of working in a relevant administrative environment. The ability to work well as an individual as well as part of a team, to work accurately and remain calm under pressure are essential.
