The DepartmentWe are looking for a professional and enthusiastic individual to be our new Deputy Timetable Manager. The Timetable team is responsible for the teaching timetable, the management and organisation of the room booking service and the automated class allocation to support online student timetables. The team provides an essential service supporting the student experience and the delivery of the University's courses.
The Role and DutiesWorking as part of a team of timetabling officers, the Deputy Timetable Manager will manage the day-to-day operation of timetabling and lead the room booking service. The role will include coordinating, monitoring and supporting the team tasks against the planned schedule.
The Deputy Timetable Manager will be responsible for accurate timetabling data using specialist software packages to support the publication of the annual teaching timetable.
The role also includes working collaboratively with colleagues in professional services and academic departments to co-ordinate the collection and input of accurate data and providing guidance on the University's policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills requiredYou will have recent experience of successfully delivering an operational service and will be confident working with bespoke databases. You will have excellent organisational, communication and relationship building skills, with a proven ability to work well as part of a team. You will have experience of successfully managing a team, to ensure effective prioritisation of multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and delivering good customer service.
A positive attitude, contributing ideas to support the work of the team and the ability to remain calm under pressure is essential.
You will have a good honours degree (or substantial equivalent experience), a minimum of 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualification) and a minimum of 5 GCSE passes at A-C (or equivalent qualification) including English Language and Mathematics at Grade B or above.
