The group already has more than 15 research active members, consisting of emerging as well as world-leading researchers with an international reputation for its cutting-edge research in the fields of brand management, sustainability, social enterprise, critical management & marketing and consumer behaviour.The Group is now seeking to appoint an academic at the Lecturer level.We would especially welcome applications from candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:* Marketing management * Retail marketing * Services marketing * Critical marketingDuties of the RoleThe purpose of this post is to enhance the School's research profile and to both contribute to and lead in developing the field of marketing; to develop and actively engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision; and to extend the School's profile regionally, nationally and internationally through collaboration with other institutions. In addition, you will be required to design, plan and deliver learning in creative and innovative ways appropriate to the subject area and level; generate external research funding, including in collaboration with colleagues, appropriate in scale to career stage and subject area norms; and undertake leadership duties related to research and education appropriate to career stage.A full list of key responsibilities and main duties (Education, Research and Leadership and Citizenship) can be found within the job pack.Skills and qualifications requiredApplicants should have a relevant doctoral level research degree in marketing management or be close to completion of a PhD; evidence of a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes and proven experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in the area of marketing, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in Higher Education.In addition you will possess evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile.We particularly welcome female applicants and those from an ethnic minority group, as they are under-represented at this level.This is a permanent, full-time role on an ASER (teaching and research) contract.At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
