Academic SectionThe Academic Section is looking for an efficient, organised and professional individual to fulfil the role of Graduation Assistant. The successful candidate will have strong administrative and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The Role and DutiesThe post is located in the Assessment Team within the Academic Services directorate and has primary responsibility for supporting the work of Graduation, which is responsible for the organisation, oversight and development of all aspects of the University's Graduation experience and the management, development and provision to graduates and alumni of the University's award certificates, academic transcripts and other records of achievement.
Working as part of a team and reporting to the Graduation Manager, the Graduation Assistant will provide essential administrative support for the delivery of the University's graduation experience across the University's campuses and beyond. You will be managing the Graduation and Alumni Document inboxes, providing information and initial responses, and will be the first line of response to telephone enquiries. You will also be responsible for the production, collation and distribution of certificates, transcripts and other records of achievement for graduating students and alumni, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of our systems and processes.
Qualifications and Skills RequiredYou will have a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to respond positively to rapid change as well as demonstrating supportive and effective interpersonal and administrative skills and the ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 GCSE passes, including English Language and Mathematics and recent experience of working in a relevant administrative environment. The ability to work well as an individual as well as part of a team, to work accurately and remain calm under pressure are essential.
