Essex Business SchoolThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management Group at Essex Business School. The Group currently has 18 research active members, consisting of emerging as well as world-leading researchers with an international reputation in the fields of gender and work, employee relations, organisation theory, and critical management studies amongst others.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Leadership and Organisation. This post is fixed term for 36 months from 1 October 2020 to undertake replacement teaching and administrative duties for Professor Elisabeth Kelan who has been awarded a Major Research Fellowship by the Leverhulme Trust (MRF-2019-069).
Duties of the RoleThe purpose of this post is to develop and actively engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision.
You will contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support; supervise student projects, fieldwork and placements; engage in individual and/or collaborative scholarship and professional practice activity; and undertake peer mentoring of colleagues new to teaching at the request of the Dean.
In addition, you will be expected to enhance the scholarly reputation of the Department and contribute to your individual field of expertise as appropriate to your discipline.

Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will hold a relevant doctoral level degree in Management or related field (or be close to completion of PhD) or equivalent professional experience or practice and have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate.
Substantial experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in, engaging and innovative ways; experience of designing and planning learning activities; and the ability to engage in knowledge exchange and outreach activities are essential for this post.
