Department
We are looking to appoint three enthusiastic and proactive people to work with our academic departments to support student assessment and engagement, with a focus on reviewing and improving our processes. You will be based in one or more academic department in one of our three faculties, working closely with our central Assessment and Student Progress teams.
Duties of the Role
You will provide support for student assessment supporting departments with all stages of the assessment cycle including exams, coursework, feedback, marking, extenuating circumstances, exam boards and results, including responding to student and staff queries. You will also support and develop the local departmental approach to student engagement, working collaboratively with the Student Progress Team.
The role will provide you with an opportunity to engage proactively with the review and improvement of the University’s assessment processes and policies: undertaking research into sector practice; contributing to reviews and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Skills and qualifications required
You will have a strong skills set acquired from relevant work experience that will enable you to make an immediate and impactful contribution to the planning and delivery of departmental assessment and engagement activities. You will be an excellent communicator, in person and in writing, with good interpersonal and team working skills. You will be able to make a positive contribution to the review and improvement of processes, and be able to undertake small-scale, independent projects and reviews. You will also have strong IT skills, and be a quick and confident user of a range of packages and bespoke systems.
