The Role and DutiesWe are looking to appoint an innovative, professional and internationally minded Essex Abroad Advisor, to join a team of Study Abroad / Exchange advisors for a fixed term until end of July 2018, to support our students to go abroad as part of their Essex degree. The main areas of responsibility include:
* Provision of accurate information, advice and guidance* Support the student engagement events programme* Coordinate the bi-annual review of the grade conversion and recognition processes for the Erasmus & Exchange programmes
Qualifications and skills requiredYou must be pro-active, self-motivated, flexible and able to work with minimal supervision. You will need to able to develop and manage relationships with at all levels within the University, and international university partners. You should possess good IT skills including Word, Access, Excel and Outlook. You should also have the ability to work under pressure, juggling multiple priorities, whilst maintaining close attention to detail with a calm and professional manner.
You will have an innovative, engaging and effective professional approach that wins the confidence of those around you. The duties of the post are varied and wide-ranging, and you will be responsible for providing high quality information, advice and guidance support across the Essex Abroad team. The role would suit those with excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to combine knowledge and experience with empathy and diplomacy. Excellent analytical, organisational and time management skills, high standards of accuracy and attention to detail, and a flexible approach to work are essential.
