Our aim is to deliver a food service standard which reflects and supports the University’s core values of excellence, quality, creativity and diversity across the full range of catering facilities our in-house team provides.
We aim to provide a broad range of high quality, value for money food and hospitality facilities across the university for students, staff and visitors. Our 12 catering outlets are spread across the campus and range from Street food huts on our squares to High Street style eateries and coffee shops.
Our focus is on using local fresh produce, providing value for money and supporting an ethical approach to sustainability and traceability.

Duties of the Role
Essex Food is looking to recruit an enthusiastic catering supervisor to join our busy catering team.
We are looking for a self-motivated and personable individual who has a real passion for food and customer service, to lead a small team of catering assistants when on shift.
You will work with the Assistant Retail Manager in delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring the outlet is ready for service, whilst following Essex Food standards.
Skills and qualifications required

You will need previous experience in a catering and customer facing environment and strive in a busy and fast paced environment.
As a team leader you will be able to train and support your team as well as delegate tasks as appropriate.
To comply with Health and Safety regulations, any offer of employment will be made subject to satisfactory University Food Handling health clearance by the University Occupational Health service.
You will be required to work 5 days out of 7 including occasional evenings and weekends.
