Communications and External RelationsThis post is situated in the Advancement office, which is home to the Philanthropy and Alumni Relations functions of the University. Advancement sits within Communications and External Relations Section (CER), which is one of seven main professional services sections within the University, whose responsibility it is to support the four academic faculties. Headed by the Director of CER, and with a staff of around 100, the section has specific responsibility for UK, EU and international student recruitment; marketing and admissions; widening participation and community activity; corporate marketing and communications; events; fundraising, relations with alumni; and the arts programme on campus. Duties of the roleThe post-holder will be responsible for delivering a multi-faceted engagement programme for University of Essex alumni, focussing specifically on recent graduates. Co-ordinating with internal departments, the role-holder will also deliver an integrated programme of activity for current students. Working with the other alumni relations officers, the post-holder will deliver a package of events and communications activities for Essex alumni locally, nationally and internationally.A full list of duties can be found within the job pack.Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have experience in delivering successful alumni engagement programmes (or similar membership/affinity programmes). You will be a communications professional, with expertise in delivering engaging content via print and digital channels and a proven track record of building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
