The DepartmentThe Department of Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies* (currently the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies) is recognised internationally as one of the leading departments for work that focuses on the role of the unconscious mind in mental health as well as in culture and society.
We are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in the field of Psychoanalytic Studies.
*anticipated departmental title from 1 August 2017.
The RoleYou will take up a teaching and organisational role on the innovative BA in Psychoanalytic Studies as well as our long-running MA in Psychoanalytic Studies. Where appropriate, you may also contribute to other programmes such as our MA in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies, MA in Management and Organisational Dynamics, MA in Refugee Care, and our forthcoming BA in Childhood Studies. You will also conduct high quality academic research leading to publications, including submitting research grant proposals and conducting funded research.
The anticipated start date for this post is 1 September 2017.
Qualifications and skills requiredYou will have a strong track record in research, with evidence of published research of peer-reviewed international quality, and you will show strong evidence of being able to meet the requirements for the department's research submission to the Sociology panel in the REF. Membership of the British Psychoanalytic Council, the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis (a college of the UK Council for Psychotherapy), or an equivalent organisation is desirable but not essential. You should have experience in relevant teaching and a PhD and Master's in a relevant subject area (or an equivalent professional qualification).
