Duties of the RoleThe University of Essex is looking for a skilled and experienced Data Developer to join a small, dedicated team working on an ambitious project using data analytics and predictive modelling to help our students achieve success. Duties will include preparation of data for the Learner Analytics Solution and leading on the capture of data relating to interventions and initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications requiredYou should have an Honours degree or equivalent level, preferably with further certification or training in database development, business intelligence or a related topic. Strong practical experience of database design and development, resolving data quality issues, data migration/transformation and communication with data users is essential as is experience of documenting data and the structure in which it is held. You will also have strong practical experience of reporting software including SQL, relational databases and web services and experience of using SQL to extract data. A high level of numeracy with good understanding of reporting, data visualisation and statistical methods and excellent attention to detail is required.
