The Academic Section is responsible for managing all aspects of student and academic administration and plays a central role in delivering the University's commitment to excellence in education across the University. The University is going through an exciting period of strategic international partnership development which Essex Abroad, within the Partnerships team in the Academic Section, is playing a key role in supporting.
Duties of the Role
We are looking to appoint an innovative, dynamic and highly motivated Essex Abroad Manager to provide strategic oversight and operational management for the University's student mobility programmes with a focus on the delivery of an excellent student experience. Essex Abroad is responsible for coordination and management of all forms of student mobility on behalf of the University, this includes student exchanges, Erasmus+, ISEP, study abroad, overseas work and volunteering and summer schools abroad. This post will lead the work of a team of professional staff working to support all aspects of incoming and outgoing student mobility.
Skills and qualifications required
The duties of the post are varied and wide-ranging, and as you will be responsible for providing high quality information, advice and guidance support, your skills in communication and relationship management will be a significant asset.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively to meet tight deadlines whilst handling multiple priorities. Flexibility and experience of managing and working in a team is essential, with the ability to establish good working relationships at every level of an organisation. You will have significant and relevant experience working in Higher Education and the ability to understand and interpret regulatory frameworks, have a flexible approach and willingness and ability to travel both within and outside the UK. A good honours degree (2.1 or above) or substantial equivalent experience is essential.
