IT ServicesLearning Environments and Technical Systems (LETS), part of IT Services at the University of Essex, is seeking a permanent, full-time LETS Service Desk Assistant to join their busy team which delivers day to day AV and IT support for University staff, teaching spaces and meeting areas as well as major high profile University and external events.
The Colchester campus has over 200 rooms with AV and computers and more than 4000 PCs and associated printers and mobile devices to support, deploy and repair.
Role and DutiesThe successful applicant will be required to juggle multiple tasks such as coordinating the IT/AV elements of University office and room moves, providing first line IT/AV trouble-shooting support, deploying IT equipment and managing video conference bookings.
The post-holder will work closely with colleagues across IT Services as well as colleagues in other Professional Services sections and Academic Departments and Centres.
Qualifications and SkillsApplicants are expected to hold a technical qualification at A-Level or equivalent experience.
The post-holder will have proven experience of working in a busy customer service role, have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in using a range of IT applications, configuring mobile and tablet devices and resolving internet and wireless access issues.
The post is based at Colchester campus but occasional travel to other campuses is required.
