The Department of School of Sport, Rehabilitation & Exercise Sciences is seeking to appoint a number of Graduate Laboratory Assistants for the academic year 2018-19 and are inviting applications for GLA work on the following modules/to assist with teaching on various modules which may include:Our School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences opened in August 2017, bringing together the outstanding research and educational expertise in sports and exercise science, physiotherapy and sports therapy.See www.essex.ac.uk/modules and search for SRES modulesPurpose of the role and responsibilities: The key responsibilities of the Graduate Laboratory Assistant include:
* Laboratory demonstration * Maintaining contact with the laboratory supervisor* Undertaking related administrative duties* Attending training courses and briefing meetings* Undertaking preparation as requested by the laboratory supervisor* Undertake marking of work from a defined marking scheme.Skills and Qualifications RequiredThe following knowledge and skills are required for this role:
* Familiarity with the subject area and methodologies/techniques employed in the laboratory sessions.Range of hours offered: Various (payment via time sheet)Working hours between 9am and 6pm Mon-FriTraining and support:GLA Training (Learning and Development)* School of Sport, Rehabilitation & Exercise Sciences GLA Induction* Ongoing support from Director of Postgraduate Research and administrative support.
