This is an exciting opportunity to join the Management and Marketing Group at Essex Business School in the field of Marketing. The group already has more than 20 research active members, consisting of emerging as well as world-leading researchers with an international reputation for its cutting-edge research in the fields of brand management, sustainability, social enterprise, critical management & marketing and consumer behaviour.
We are keen to appoint a talented scholar with experience in any area of Marketing, appointing at Lecturer level. We would, however, especially welcome applications from those with expertise in:
Duties of the Role
The purpose of this post is to enhance the school’s research profile and to both contribute to and lead in developing the field of marketing at the school; to develop and actively engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision; and to extend the school’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally through collaboration with other institutions.
Applicants will contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support; supervise student projects, fieldwork and placements; produce research outputs for publication at acceptable levels of volume and academic excellence; and undertake peer mentoring of colleagues on the request of the Dean. You will be expected to engage in individual and/or collaborative research activity (resulting in internationally excellent publications) that is in keeping with REF criteria; and generate external research income, appropriate to career stage and subject area norms.

Qualifications and Skills required
Applicants should hold a doctoral level research degree (PhD) in Marketing (or be close to completion of PhD), or equivalent professional experience or practice.
You should have evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile, and proven experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential for achieving this.
This is a permanent, full-time post on an ASER (teaching and research) contract. We particularly welcome applications from those who identify as female or non-binary and those from an ethnic minority as they are under-represented at this level.
